A Redundant Post Graduate Degree

Introduction
Post graduates please don’t be offended. This is not for those people who are planning on doing even further studies after their post graduations. You might be underpaid but not disillusioned definitely. This piece of writing is meant for people who are post graduates and not satisfied at the goodies this degree has fetched for them.
There might be a fresh law graduate who has spent hours in the library of his senior’s office researching cases and finding out the nitty gritties. He may one day apply for a job elsewhere and realize that a position that is meant for a law graduate is open to graduates from every field. How does he feel about his years of research and minute understanding of the legal system?
Similarly an engineering graduate just out of college seeks a job and eventually realizes from the offers that are given to him that some one from the hotel industry is earning double than him. How does he feel at that point of time? Someone might not be from the engineering field but has better experience of the trade gets a higher salary as compared to the engineer. Don’t be shocked this is a rule of the market. You can’t determine anything about it.
The bad news about post graduate degrees is that most of the employers might have never even heard of your degree that you have obtained let alone its value in the job that they have to offer. So to be able to convert your studies into your skills in front of the prospective employer will prove to be a tricky job for you.
If you are under 30 years of age the age factor won’t be a problem but then some serious questions will be asked from you as to why you did not plunge into your career right after your graduation etc. Your quotient of commitment will also be bought into question. The further bad news can be that the pay won’t be any higher than that of the fresh graduates they have hired till you study further and that should be relevant to their field particularly.
