How to write your Resume- Made Easy

                         

Introduction

A resume can single handedly make or break your resume. That is why you are sure to find innumerable articles and other information for job seekers, to be able to write a resume. It is not a Herculean task to write that perfect resume to land you that dream job. Read on to follow some simple guidelines to get the resume with an edge.

  • Personal Information – Resumes obviously will have information about you, your education, address, etc.
  • Objective - This will provide the recruitment department with your areas of interest and your skills if they match their requirement or not. The objective will also provide a fair amount of idea about your potential to the prospective employer. However do not write vague and childish objectives if you are a freshman, try to be concise and practical.
  • Education - Include all details of your education, dates of graduation etc and if no space constraint than also any primary or secondary education details too.
  • Work Experience - This section is invaluable for those employers who are seeking employees with specific skills. They will definitely scan this part of your resume first before moving on to the next. Details of all past jobs should be provided clearly as this will build your image in the employer’s mind.
  • Accomplishments - Any job recruiter will look for instances when the candidate has excelled in something or gained recognition for it. Include all achievements form your college works too. These accomplishments convey a lot of things to the prospective employer, for instance leaderships skills, team work ability, communication skills etc.
  • References - It is a matter of choice to put in a reference section; this depends upon if you have been working previously or if this is your first job interview. Also if you have any good references to give form the organizations that you have worked with in the past then do mention them as they will definitely be a plus.
  • Cover letter- This is the first document that the employer views from your side even before the resume. This should be immaculate and egg on the employer o read your resume with interest. Highlights of your resume should get a mention in the cover letter specially those which match the top three requirements of the job. The resume is incomplete without a cover letter. So they are a package together. Cover letters should not be static for all job applications.
