The Job Interview Check List

                         

Introduction

You are all ready and waiting to go ahead for that interview that holds the key to your dream job. But it would be very bad if you miss out on something that can make or break your candidacy.

It’s better to have a check list so that you can tally all that is required by you and also to make sure that you carry it at the time of interview. Following is a general check list which can be used by you with some editing by you.

  • Is your clothing well ironed?
  • Do you have a fresh hair cut?
  • Have you polished your shoes?

There are certain things that you need to carry

  • Some extra copies of the resume
  • Photocopies of important documents like your credentials and also copies of any other certificates that you might have.
  • A note pad an a pen to jot down whatever might be relevant to you during the interview.
  • Keep copies of your application with the cover letter handy too.
  • All your references should be typed neatly on a paper.
  • A set of directions making it easy for you to reach the location of the interview.
  • Some expected questions of which the answers have been rehearsed by you and also some questions that you would like to ask the interviewer.

Follow some more simple guidelines to be prompt and not have any hassles before the interview.

  • If you are commuting by a car it should be serviced well to avoid break down at the wrong time.
  • If commuting by air then do keep your tickets handy and confirm the status of your flight again.
  • Read the job advertisement again so as not to goof up with any thing during the interview.
  • Don’t get nervous just recollect your subject knowledge.

On reaching the interview location be patient and don’t fidget at times employers plan a delay to observe candidate behavior. You shouldn’t lose out because of patience. Be confident when you speak because a lack of confidence could cost you the job offer. Patience has always paid and will continue to do so.
