Making the right career choice for yourself

Introduction
There many methods how to choose a right career for yourself. Some people like to wait for enlightenment. That means when it is Eureka the choice will come to you and you don’t have to spend hours in searching for it. Going to career fairs, attending presentations, reading brochures is not for them. They wait at times it could be an endless wait.
The lucky dip method will have to be something like burying a hundred odd job choices in the sand and then draw out one job, which will be the career that you take up. Draw backs of this method, the job might be something totally out of the blue which you have no clue about and no enthusiasm for. It could also leave you with no other options rather than whiling away your time then.
The next thing that you could do if the previous method doesn’t suit you is to research the complete job market to look up jobs that are the most lucrative these days and look at their market value and future in the coming years. The advantage will be that your knowledge about the job market will increase but if you have third division degree will that get you any of the jobs that you have researched? Also the number of hours that you have spent in researching them will also go kaput.
If still you are not satisfied by any of the methods and don’t have any Eureka’s of your own then you can simply play copy cat and follow your mates. Look into whatever profession they have started working and follow suit. The disadvantage that could be gaping at you is that your friends might become your own competitors and also the field might be something totally averse to your liking.
If you have managed to read this far then there is another method that you could probably adopt. This would be waiting for a year and procrastinating about the right kind of job for you. In this one year you could probably engage yourself by doing a PG degree, travel, or just hibernate.
Last but definitely not the least if you are really serious about taking up a job that is according to your liking then you need to be sane and act like an adult. For this you have to do some self analysis and rationally take stock of the job opportunities available for you. This could prove to be a dull activity on the onset but the job satisfaction that you will gain out of it will be worth it.
