The first Few Days of your New Job

Introduction
First impressions are the last impressions still hold true in some cases and your job and work place is certainly one of them. The student days are over so you need to know about the various cultures of the work place and cater to the needs of a professional atmosphere.
Go and Shop
Who wouldn’t like to do this? Most often in life we look for excuses for shopping and find none but for once you have a valid excuse, a new job. A working professional needs a good wardrobe. The first day you need to play it safe and be as formal as you can afford to wear. Think back to that day of your interview and try to remember what the other employees had been wearing. If it was casual then you can do so from the second day but keep the first day formal really.
Memory Refresh
You should read up gain about your employer and try to glean as much from any source that you have provided it is reliable. Call up your boss to ask for any additional material that you might require. The euphoria of actually landing up the job might have made you forget essential details about the department that you are required to work for. Remember it or ask the department head to provide you with it.
Be approachable
It’s a good way to begin on a new venture by being receptive about other people and their ideas and forming a comfortable working space for you. However your work is also important to asses your capabilities so don’t compromise on that. If you are friendly with people the going will remain easy for you.
The job Counts
Whatever else you might do your job is the important thing and you need to deliver whatever is expected of you. If you are unclear about any aspects then ask your boss or any other colleague. Whatever deadlines have been set for you, make sure that you meet them. What others do with their jobs should not be your concern and delivering your best should be it. The best way to prove your self is to do your job well.
